Photo and Video Photographer based in Minneapolis, MN

A University of Minnesota Journalism School graduate, I worked as a local TV news photographer for 17 years in Eugene, Tulsa, and Minneapolis where I had many grand adventures, met countless amazing people and won a few awards along the way.

In 2025, I started off on my own, doing photo and video projects for individuals, families, small businesses, and non profits around Minnesota. I love telling stories and would love to help you tell yours.

Along with starting a photography and video production company, I am also back in school to get my Master's degree in Strategic Communications. My greatest life achievement was winning 2nd place female in a 50k trail race, for which I won a ceramic fish that now hangs on the wall in my kitchen.

What People Are Saying

“Carly brought great energy, creativity, and professionalism to both of our photoshoots.
She was receptive to our branding vision, found creative solutions to our challenging space, and used what we learned together to make each shoot better than the last. The photos have been a huge asset to our business — one even landed in a Vogue article on American sauna culture.”

— Anna Myers-Bangsund, 612 Sauna

“She hustles like a 24/7 news photographer with the visual eye of an artist.  She listens while shooting — which is invaluable to a producer.  She respects the client and their needs.  And she’s just fun to work with.”

— Ken Stone, Stone Soup Productions

“Carly has an incredible ability to capture not just what our organization does, but who we are at our core — the determination, strength, and joy that define our members' journeys. Her photos and videos tell powerful stories of connection and belonging, bringing our mission to life in a way that words alone cannot. She brings warmth and professionalism to every interaction, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.”

— Rebecca Lange, Mile in My Shoes
